El sexto álbum de estudio del compositor y guitarrista Antonio Gómez es una apuesta por el Smooth Jazz hecho en España. Tras estas diez composiciones originales se esconden inspiradas melodías y un laborioso trabajo de arreglos y producción, que ha contado con colaboraciones excepcionales.
Funk, Groove, Blues, Latin Jazz y Flamenco son ingredientes habituales del recetario al que nos tiene acostumbrados el músico almeriense.

Update 5.0 es una actualización vital del artista que busca profundizar y recrearse en un discurso musical elegante y con entidad.    

The sixth studio album by composer and guitarist Antonio Gómez is a commitment to Smooth Jazz made in Spain. Behind these ten original compositions lie inspired melodies and laborious work of arrangements and production, which he has counted on with exceptional collaborations.

Funk, Groove, Blues, Latin Jazz and Flamenco are common ingredients in the recipe book to which the musician from Almeria (Spain) is accustomed.

Update 5.0 is a vital update of the artist who seeks to deepen and recreate himself in an elegant and meaningful musical discourse.


CHORDS OF HOPE

Una progresión de acordes que levanta el ánimo tras cada vuelta, que nos impulsa a seguir tocando, a improvisar sin prejuicios y sin miedos. Los acordes que están en armonía con nosotros mismos y que nos dan seguridad; esos son los acordes de esperanza. "Chords of Hope"

La riqueza de un barrio histórico está en la gran mezcla cultural que ha guardado durante siglos. Ahora le sumamos, además, la rapidez del día a día y la llegada de los nuevos y actuales sonidos urbanos. Así suena para mí el granadino barrio del "Realejo"

The richness of a historic neighborhood is in the great cultural mix that it preserves for centuries. Now we also add the speed of everyday life and the arrival of new and current urban sounds. This is how the Granada neighborhood of "Realejo" sounds to me


SAUCE OF LIFE

Una melodía especial es aquella que puede contener y transmitir diferentes estados de ánimo, como la vida misma. Algo así ocurre con esta salsa con aire de jazz latino, como es "Sauce of Life"   

A special melody is one that can contain and transmit different moods, like life itself. Something like this happens with this salsa with a Latin jazz feel, such as "Sauce of Life"


HABEMUS BLUES

Enérgico groove con aire funk que mantiene un mismo fraseo, casi hipnótico, sobre una base de blues ligeramente modificada. Ha hecho falta un "cónclave compositivo" para adaptar esta melodía a la estructura del blues pero lo hemos conseguido y, como una fumata blanca, podemos anunciar por fín.......... "Habemus Blues"

Energetic groove with a funk feel that maintains the same, almost hypnotic phrasing, on a slightly modified blues base. It took a "compositional conclave" to adapt this melody to the blues structure but we have achieved it and, like a white smoke, we can finally announce.......... "Habemus Blues"


NOVEMBER LIGHTS

Un mes de noviembre fue posiblemente el más productivo de mi carrera como compositor. Se alumbraron las diez composiciones que conforman este álbum y, entre ellas, ésta tiene un brillo muy especial. Espero que os reconforten todas estas luces tanto como a mí. "November Lights"   

A month of November was possibly the most productive of my career as a composer. The ten compositions that make up this album were illuminated and, among them, this one has a very special shine. I hope all these lights comfort you as much as they do me. "November Lights"

Así es esta melodía que ha tenido como referente la maestría del gran Antonio Carlos Jobim.
En este caso hemos tenido que añadir cinco notas más. Y así suena "Six Notes Samba"

The power of simplicity in just six notes.

This is this melody that has had as a reference the mastery of the great Antonio Carlos Jobim.

In this case we had to add five more notes. And this is what "Six Notes Samba" sounds like


SMOOTH BOOGALOO

Si tienes la necesidad de moverte, saltar y bailar deberías probar el boogaloo. Cierra los ojos y déjate llevar por el ritmo y los sonidos de este "Smooth Boogaloo"   

If you have the need to move, jump and dance you should try boogaloo. Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm and sounds of this "Smooth Boogaloo"


CARMEN DEL AGUA

Los sonidos de la guitarra flamenca se cuelan siempre por las laberínticas calles del barrio del Albaicín. Empiezan por el Paseo de los Tristes y llegan hasta el mismo Mirador de San Nicolás. No es mala idea tampoco perderse por el "Carmen del Agua"   

The sounds of the flamenco guitar always sneak through the labyrinthine streets of the Albaicín neighborhood. They start on the Paseo de los Tristes and reach the Mirador de San Nicolás itself. It's not a bad idea to get lost in the "Carmen del Agua"
